Reynold B. Johnson Background:Reynold B. Johnson impacted the history of computers through his 1956 investigation, finally invented disk data storage. Originally a student at the University of Minnesota, Johnson became a high school teacher and inventor, later inventing a machine in which scored multiple choice questions using pencil marks to automatically check individual questions, outputting a final score. After it was introduced, IBM realized the products potential, later buying the rights to Reynold's product, naming it the IBM Test Scoring Machine. Afterwords, IBM decided to hire Johnson as an engineer for their company.
